The soul of this place

Ahobilam is the Moola Kshetra of Śrī Narasimha — the sacred Nallamala forest where the Lord appeared from the pillar. The nine forms (Nava Narasimha) are worshipped across Upper and Lower Ahobilam under the guidance of Sri Ahobila Matha.

Highlights

Why this kshetra astonishes

This is the forest where Narasimha Himself tore open the pillar of tyranny — nine svayambhu forms still breathe across the Nallamala hills.
Upper and Lower Ahobilam are one pilgrimage of body and soul: jungle paths, cave silence, and the roar of Jwala Narasimha.
Ahobila Matha regards this as its primary seat — a living paramparā walking the same sacred ground.
To seek all nine forms is not tourism; it is a yatra into the Lord’s own manifestation.

Special details

Home to Upper and Lower Ahobilam complexes. Ahobila Matha regards this as its primary seat. Pilgrims traditionally seek darshan of all nine forms — a profound, physically demanding yatra.
