Built during Hoysala rule; drum donated by Tipu Sultan, bell by Mysore Parakalamatha, gold crown by Krishnaraja Wodeyar III. One of seven holy Narasimha centres. Deity: Yoga Narasimha (seated with Yogapatta, Shaligrama chakras visible on the body during Abhisheka) Seated Yoga Narasimha atop 'Nava Narasimha' steps; 365 steps to the hilltop shrine.
